My Favorite Shots
While I typically take pride in every photo in a client's wedding gallery, certain standout images reignite my passion for wedding photography. These remarkable moments shine through in the emotions reflected on the couple's faces and in the stunning aesthetics chosen for decorations. Ally & Issac celebrated their enchanting ceremony at the Crown Winery in Humboldt, Tennessee, in September 2024. After reviewing their gallery, I'm thrilled to share a few incredible images that beautifully capture the magic of their day.
Mother & Daughter
My favorite moment to document is when a mother helps her daughter prepare for her wedding day. It's a profound expression of love, filled with pride and joy as tears of happiness flow. In those moments, a mother recalls her daughter dressing up bedsheets as a little girl, twirling around the house. Bittersweet memories of a crying infant, a rebellious teen, and a proud college graduate come rushing back. The bond between mother and daughter is deep and indescribable, yet I believe in the truth of the saying: a picture is worth a thousand words. I could fill pages about a mother buttoning her daughter's wedding dress, pinning in the veil, and reassuring her that she is the most beautiful bride to ever walk down the aisle.
This moment was no different as I observed the emotions on Ally and her mother's faces. Ally's mom lovingly fastened the buttons on her daughter's dress while struggling to hold back a few tears. The most beautiful moment between them was a heartfelt embrace that led to some joyful giggles. Watching these shared moments between mother and daughter always brings me back to my wedding day. Each time, I am reminded of that special, intimate moment with my mother and sisters. It's hard not to get a little choked up each time.
Flatlays
Flatlay details truly capture the essence of a wedding day. Each carefully chosen item tells a beautiful story, revealing the couple's journey. Vow books filled with handwritten promises, heirloom engagement rings passed down through generations, and a pocket square worn by a family member on their special day—all of these elements, often seen as small, hold immense significance. It's these precious details that inspire me to document love in its most intimate form.
Ally's flatlay details were breathtaking, featuring some of the most ornate wedding invitations I had ever seen. Each invitation was sealed with a golden wax seal showcasing her soon-to-be last name. That day, her fiancé gifted her a stunning pair of freshwater pearl earrings as a symbol of love and commitment. I centered her flatlay with the earrings, surrounded by their vow books filled with heartfelt promises. The elegant colors came together in perfect harmony.
Florals
The florals at Ally and Isaac's wedding exceeded all my expectations as a wedding photographer. A little backstory on this wedding: the couple had to completely change their plans because the event took place during Hurricane Helene. It absolutely poured on their wedding day, which, while considered good luck by some, posed a challenge since their ceremony was being held at an outdoor venue.
At the last minute, they transformed the outdoor area into a covered space by attaching a tarp to the rafters. Ally added hanging flowers and string lights, turning an unfortunate situation into one of the most beautiful outdoor weddings I have ever witnessed. She and Isaac exchanged their vows, shared their first kiss, and had their first dance beneath a fragrant canopy of roses, dahlias, and gerber daisies.
Her bouquet and the reception florals were also significant highlights. The colors added so much cheer to the venue, despite the gloomy weather. I particularly loved their welcome sign flower box. All of Ally's delicate floral touches, provided by Boho Florals from Camden, Tennessee, beautifully brought together the design she envisioned for the day.
Honestly, I could blog about this wedding all day! Below are a few more of my favorite captures from the day. It was a true honor to document this beautiful occasion for Ally and Isaac. If you have a wedding on the horizon and are still searching for a photographer or videographer, I would be thrilled to discuss how I can help you preserve both the intricate details and the unforgettable moments of your special day.
