Love at First Beaver Nugget

When considering a location for your engagement photography, Buc-ee's might not be your first thought, but it’s certainly worth considering. Here are my top four reasons to select Buc-ee's for your engagement photos.

Engagement Sessions Should Be Fun

When choosing a backdrop for your engagement photos, consider the "fun factor" that the setting can provide. Are there numerous spots to explore, interesting backgrounds to use, and is the location unique? Buc-ee's checks all these boxes. Known as one of the largest gas stations in the United States, it features an array of experiences inside. With colorful walls filled with candy and jerky, expansive refrigerators stocked with snacks, and quirky merchandise, every corner offers countless photo opportunities. This vibrant environment adds variety and a unique flair to each shot. Couples like Demi and Eric have embraced their playful sides during their engagement shoot, sharing laughter and joy while capturing candid moments that reflect their true personalities.

Engagement Photos Should Reflect the Couple

For adventurous and quirky couples, Buc-ee's is the perfect setting for engagement photos. This unique location evokes a sense of nostalgia, especially for those who cherish experiences like road trips and spontaneous adventures. The atmosphere encourages conversations about memories and shared interests, allowing your photos to resonate with your personalities. Additionally, incorporating a distinctive backdrop like Buc-ee's adds an artistic and memorable touch, making your engagement photos not only striking but also a fantastic addition to your wedding invitations.

Engagement Sessions Should Be Hassle-Free

One potential drawback of taking engagement photos in a popular and often crowded location is negotiating the crowds. Fortunately, during my sessions, I had no issues managing the surroundings, and my couple and I remained respectful of other customers and employees. The indoor environment of Buc-ee's ensures that weather won’t affect your session. Even when it poured while I was photographing Demi and Eric, you couldn't tell because we were sheltered from the rain. Plus, the lighting inside is consistently excellent, allowing you to schedule your photos at any time of day rather than being limited to the typical golden hour.

Engagement Sessions Should Be Filling

Not only will your heart be full after spending a couple of hours celebrating your relationship with your loved one, but your stomach can be satisfied too! At the end of your shoot, you can indulge in one of Buc-ee's world-famous BBQ sandwiches or share a drink from the soda fountain, just like Demi and Eric did. The snacks are not only delicious, but they also make great photography props, taking a quirky engagement session to a whole new level. You definitely won’t leave your engagement session hungry!
